HYPERHIDROSIS
EXCESSIVE SWEATING
A SOLUTION THAT WORKS

While sweating is a normal part of everyday life, if you sweat excessively (hyperhidrosis), it can be extremely debilitating – causing anxiety, stress, depression and other problems.
Hyperhidrosis can occur in people of any age, gender and skin type, and across the body. While there isn’t always a cause, genetics, medication and an existing illness or condition can all be a factor.
TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR PERSPIRATION
At AMC Clinic, we offer wrinkle treatment to help overcome the condition, which prevents the glands from over-producing sweat. Here’s what you can expect:
-
Fast, easy treatment.
-
Immediate results, which can last up to 6 months.
-
Maintain results with regular sessions.

Treatment Areas
-
Hyperhidrosis treatment can be carried out on lots of different areas of the body. The most common areas where people sweat excessively and available for treatment at AMC are:
Forehead.
Underarms.
Botox® is administered in a series of small injections with a very fine needle as required, to give the desired results. Topical anaesthetic may also be used if required.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE HYPERHIDROSIS?
If you find yourself self-conscious about your sweat, or seemingly sweat excessively in everyday life (i.e. not during exercise or hot weather), then it’s possible you have the condition. A consultation will be the first step of treatment, so we can diagnose whether this is the problem.
DOES THIS TREATMENT HURT?
As we use fine needles, and may also be able to use a numbing agent, any discomfort is eased during the treatment.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
Incredibly, up to 6 months – though we do stress this is a guide. You’ll need to have further sessions to maintain your results.
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO FOR MY EXCESSIVE SWEATING?

You may benefit from having a conversation with your GP, but there are things we can advise on, including:
-
Wearing natural-fibre clothing, which can help reduce sweat.
-
Switching to antiperspirants, which prevent sweating.
-
Changing to soap substitutes, which can be kinder to skin.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Side effects include bruising or tenderness at the injection sites and increased sweating at other sites. Rare side effects include itching, muscle aches, allergic reactions and muscle weakness.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK?

Most patients notice some positive changes within the first week after treatment. The effects usually last between 4 to 6 months.
